Rebound Weekend
Rebound Orientation – your chance to reunite with your fellow class of outbounds, talk about your experiences abroad and the entire re-adaptation process that you have been, or soon will be, going through, and take the necessary training to be invited to be a ROTEX at future orientation events.
Unlike the two orientations that you attended a year ago, this one isn’t mandatory, although we certainly hope that you will want to attend. The purpose of the weekend, in addition to renewing friendships, sharing stories, and having fun, is to help you gain perspective on your exchange year and provide you with some tools and ideas for dealing with the challenges that will come your way over the next several months.
There is no cost to you for the weekend, but we do need to know whether or not you’ll be there, in order to arrange for the proper number of beds, meals, etc. So you need to make sure to RSVP when an email arrives with the invitation.
The weekend will start with check-in on Friday and the agenda concludes with lunch on Sunday at noon.
Please note that this event is for only you, our rebounds, there is no session for your parents. You will discover, as prior rebound students have found, that this weekend is a very powerful and meaningful opportunity for you. I hope each of you completes your exchange successfully, have a safe trip home, and join us in July.
